Microsoft Working to Fix Browser Flaw - Microsoft was working Friday to come up with a fix for a flaw in its Internet Explorer browser that could let hackers gain remote access to computer systems through malicious Web sites. A patch was not immediately available, though security experts played down the risk.
Standard Xbox 360 not backwards compatible - A representative for Microsoft confirmed that backwards compatibility rests on making use of the removable 20GB hard drive - which isn't included in the basic 'core system' bundle (which will retail for £210). Instead, gamers will have to purchase the £280 Xbox 360 Premium Edition - which is packaged with a hard drive - if they wish to use to the next-gen machine to play current-gen Xbox titles. Alternatively, it's possible to buy a stand-alone hard drive for an additional £70.

Finnish security exec arrested over bank hack - The data security chief at the Helsinki branch of financial services firm GE Money has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal €20,000 from the firm's online bank account. The 26 year-old allegedly copied passwords and e- banking software onto a laptop used by accomplices to siphon off money from an unnamed bank. Investigators told local paper Helsingin Sanomat that the suspects wrongly believed that the use of an insecure wireless network in commission of the crime would mask their tracks.
Climate change sceptics bet $10,000 on cooler world - The Guardian is carrying a story about a $10,000 bet that a pair of Russian scientists have entered with British climate expert James Annan. According to the article, the Russians believe the world will be cooler in 10 years
