Q: Although JTF is a RTS game, the setup is differing a bit from other RTS games. For instance there will be no need of building a base where you can create units and infantry. What new system have you guys come up with? Vincent van Diemen: Units are suppossed to last a bit longer than in a typical RTS game. You take your troops from one mission to the next and they will rise from the ranks during the game. So taking care of your troops will lead you to fighting with elite troops at some point in every campaign, which should make life at least a little be easier. We also have a hero-system. Most heroes are an important part of the story, but you also get to promote a few highly skilled units to hero-status as well. One of the differences between normal troop and heroes is that you can take heroes to the next campaign. In JTF you will receive funds according to your performance and with these funds you can acquire new units. All units are delivered to you on the battlefield. All is done during the missions, not between missions or in complicated menu-structures. New troops can be ordered by your heroes. They select the units they need and these will be delivered to you on the battlefield. Infantry units will be flown in with a BlackHawk helicopter and so are the smaller armored units. Big tanks will be flown in with Hercules-like airplanes. For these you will need to be in control of an airport or airstrip, so if you have a mission in the middle of rocky mountains with no airstrip, these reinforcements wil not be available to you.
