NovaLogic has released a multiplayer beta demo of Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, allowing you to check out this upcoming team-based 3D action first-person shooter set in a near-future Indonesia. This demo features the 'Twin Island' map playable on LAN and NovaWorld, five player classes (Rifleman, Gunner, Engineer, Sniper & Medic), 19 land sea and air drivable vehicles, and 27 different weapons. The 233MB demo is mirrored on NVIDA's nZone, 3DGamers, Filerush, GH, WP.

OMG TOTAL OWNAGE! =D I mean ,this suits better than ut2k4 and bf:vietnam. It's so fast paced.. tho there are some bugs. (this is ofcourse beta) The NetCode seems still kinda laggy (comparing to DF:BHD). So anyone who liked df:bhd should definetly try this. Controls are very easy and so on... anyway ,its a must-have title. ;)

I am actually a bit dissapointed in this game. 1. As a rebel character I cant even drive a vehicle into the helicopter bay or boat even though you are supposed to. 2. They chose the wrong graphics engine. The Black Hawk Down engine wasnt the wisest choice, and the physics are horrendous. 3. The helicopters have the worst control scheme I have ever seen. Overall, even though it is a demo, it isnt that good, I prefer Battlefield Vietnam more.

This game is a great improvement over BHD, though the 3rd person view in the vehicles needs to be done better (a real outside view of the vechicle) The controls and physics need some tweaking..but boy is this game gonna ROCK!!! Graphics are very good! Cant Wait for this one!!!

People have different taste. ;) Dont listen to people that dont have your taste. I think the air-controls are well done (no physics ,absolute arcade). :P btw as a rebel character ,you can actually push the vehicles into the boat and the chopper but not the first time! First go into chopper and fly around and land in a different position ,then it should be possible for you to drive the vehicle into the chopper. Same goes for boat except you dont "fly around". :P

hahaha i tried it, another waste of bandwidth. poor game, clearly why a lot of people never heard of it. Piss poor physics, graphics are so-so. this is just a lame attempt to try and capture some BF players. good luck, maybe next time guys. this will be another bargain bin game in a few months.

Remember Folks this is just a Beta it is not the offical Demo, I assume they are testing the netcode and MP playability. I would hope that the physics arent as "Arcade'ish" as in this Beta release.. If the physics of the Vechicles ends up anything like BF Vietnam then this game will certainly steel the show! Well that's my opinion..

high end systems will fare much better on this one, the graphics are great, game play is totally diffrent as are tactics, many will have to think about this game to be good at it.. if that isnt your strongpoint then dont buy this one.

the auto updater is useless, starts at a nice high speed, 4 mins total download time, then by about 50% it goes to 5k/sec. need a dl link!

This game is all about strategy - just picking up and playing will result in frustration. Once you get into it its awesome, especially if you have friends online and team up together in helicopters etc. A lot of lag online but once you find a good server it was as smooth as on a LAN - and that was with 100 players in the game. Genius.

I tried using the beta demo (with the update) and when i try to join my friends' server, it crashes saying "the dbs file of dbcs was not sent by server... help kyle! help kyle!" or something like that. I have no idea how to fix it... any help would be appreciated

Grant, i get the same error, but not always. i don't know what the problem is either. my 1 friend gets in, but most of the time i get the "help kyle" error and then a sysdump. If you (or anyone) finds a solution, let me know please. thanks, NavyFrog
