GameSpy
has written a new
preview of Jazz and Faust, the upcoming adventure game from Russian
publisher 1C Company and developer
Saturn+. The title is scheduled for release in sping 2002. Developers claims that this
upcoming title should satisfy the call of the quest with its impressive graphics. Jazz and
Faust may even change the perception of straight adventure for those that have wanted more
action in their action/adventure fare. Here is a taster:
There will be more than 80 individual scenes for you to experience in the final game filled with puzzles to solve and quests to complete, along with more than 50 unique NPCs in the various locations. You can expect to travel across a desert trade route of caravans, come upon deserted ghost towns, and even to a seacoast town that is a smugglers' paradise of smelly fish and sordid taverns. The lush graphics bring the medieval settings to life, and while not all of the locations can be described as picturesque, the detail is looking quite impressive. As much of the game involves the trading/smuggling life, there will be crowded markets packed with all types of goods that are being bought, sold, and traded, along with shifty characters conducting their dubious deals. As the story unfolds you'll even have a chance to head to the high seas and off to an island of swashbucklers, mercenaries, and scoundrels.
