I have noticed over at Eurogamer.net that Black Isle's sequel to their dungeon crawling RPG
Icewind Dale should be arriving in Europe this summer, with an August 30th UK release on
the cards according to our latest information. Also RPG Vault has posted their final Icewind Dale II designer diary as Designer Chris Avellone returns with
lots of information on Black Isle's nearly completed game. You can also check this interview with Black Isle's own Doug Avery at CVG.
Here is an excerpt from designer diary:
Anyway, Icewind Dale II's got replayability covered, so if you want to play it again after the first time, shuffle your party's goals and composition around, and there's plenty of role-playing and tactical meat left to chew on.
How is this possible, you ask? That's because Black Isle designers, especially me, are very good.
Oh, one other thing, Icewind Dale is a hell of a lot bigger than Icewind Dale, and there's tons more stuff to do. I'm in Chapter 2 again, and I can't help but think that if I had been playing through the same amount of maps as in Icewind Dale, I'd be almost at the endgame. So you'll get your money's worth.
