According to this German website (translated here), the autor of "Agobot" and later as "Phatbot" also was heavily involved in the Half-Life 2 code theft that happened more than 7 months ago. The source code and other assets of Valve's shooter then were released on the internet by the perpetrator. The evidence hinting at Ago's involvement include this chat log among other things. (thanks Gamers with Jobs)

HL2 would not have shipped Nov.30 REGARDLESS of whether the source & was hacked or not. It was an excuse meant to gain sympathy from the gaming world. Gabe got what he deserved for not ensuring tighter security.

I say we execute the guy even though HL2 was destined to be delayed. By the way Bill it was Sept. 30 not November 30 unless your talking about a delay date that they made.

Who cares who stole the code. I hope they steal it again and expose Steam to everyone. Steam is primary reason I couldn't care less for this game.

maybe valve is spending the next few months tweaking their security on STEAM. think about it.... they're just about to put out one of the worlds most anticipated releases of all time and the last thing they want is some wiseguy to penetrate the steam network and destroy valves enterprise..
