Hackers ban innocent Battlefield 3 players - briefly

Just as we thought the hacking issue with Battlefield 3 couldn't get any worse, it now appears it has just that: in order to prove their point against PunkBuster, the cheaters and hackers over at ArtificialAiming have banned over 150 Battlefield 3 players by using a PunkBuster exploit. There are numerous threads over at Battlelog about this issue, where innocent players have been banned. The issue has to do with PBBans and GGC - third party services that run on the vast majority of Battlefield 3 game servers. DICE have stated that they’re looking into the issue, but at this point, hackers have pretty much gotten control of the game. (thanks BF3Blog)

Sony deserved it though and personally I hope it happens again and the whole company tanks. Their business ethics suck man.

Banning legit players through PB only tells me what I already know and preach, PB is a hunk of shit. No surprise and very little laughter here. There are plenty of cheaters in BF3 just like there are a ton of cheaters in every other PC title. Yippee.

That's the whole point you and millions of others miss, tom. It WAS the GAMER who suffered. Sony was 'missed', because a bunch of empty-headed bedroom lizards could only hack a bloody PS3!
I don't have fuck-all on PS3 or ANY form of card details on a gaming platform.
So it was a big fucking inconvenience to me -it wasn't Sony's fault, but a knob bunch that appropriately call themselves Anonymous. Like with their skills it must have taken MONTHS to think up that name......
Get this straight, all this smegma bunch have done in the community -not a handful on a we corner of the net- is make the ORDINARY gamer fucking ANGRY at them!!
They don't work and have social problems and most people wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire in the street.

@Csimbi, PB is flawed? PB is a POS that has been a POS since it came out. PB is already major circumvented. Look at EVERY cheat out there, it's almost trademarked ffs "PB SAFE HACK".

It seems that it's the only way nowadays to prove a point and force company to change stuff.
I have a feeling that DICE didn't care about hacks at all, that they were like "meh, punkbuster is good enough to catch dumb ones, in-game moderators will take care of the rest as much as they can" and they simply didn't want to make/buy better anti cheat protetion. Punk buster guys are also happy, they have to do very little and their product sells as it is.

That's why gaming consoles were created, people saying they enjoy PC games are either lying to themselves as they do to others. The PC platform is only valuable to create screenshots and trailers for your upcoming game, ultimately the end user knows he will only enjoy a game when he plays it on a console. afaik, some script kiddy groups who could handle a soldering iron had some BIG words for the world "PS3 is rootbusted 100%, we control it 100%, GAME OVER SONY!!!!" ... 1 simple firmware upgrade later it was GAME OVER for the smegma boys.

Also, playing fps games with crutches is not my cup of tea, sorry. Game consoles were actually never created for multipleyer or even FPS games for that matter.

always?! Since when? Since Halo? I don't remember any fps on consoles before Halo...and the timeline from first console up to xbox and Halo is like...forever compared to timeline from Halo up until now.
Gamepad isn't meant for FPS, I don't care what anyone says.

PS. On console they don't get caught just like they don't get caught on PC. Those that DO get caught would also get caught by stupid Punk Buster on PC. You either cheat like pro (asshole) or get caught. On any platform. The only thing that is different is the limit. You can cheat on pinball machine, but there is a limit (tilt), same goes for software cheating.

It was PS3 that was affected, therefore if a hospital has received a bunch of donated PS3's then they no longer have the ability to use them properly.

They hacked the PSN with a fucking botched PS3, they didn't steal or get into Sony as a company and get employee details, did they? NOPE!

point is not the sick kids, point is: if they can do it, someone else can do it too. It's just that they came out public with it, someone else maybe did not.

What is ordinary user supposed to do? Write to sony saying "hey, I think your servers are not very secure, I am worried about my details and info". What would sony do about it? Nothing. What sony does when hackers bring down their network? They upgrade security of course.

And what about the sick kids in beds with psp? There are sick kids lying in streets without food or water, not mention medicine or any kind of treatment. there are hundreds of thousands of them. I couldn't give a flying fuck about some rich kid lying in bed without PSP network. He'll be just fine without it. Jeez, what a snobism...imagine, no network for PSP...disastrous...

Quake on dreamcast?! Yea, that was epic. It's the first title to show you that FPS is NOT meant for gamepad, even id said it back then. My first console? Some atari, 26 years ago. So tell me now, how long have fps existed on consoles and how long they didn't? Fool....

PS. I never had a console after PS2, I saw it all coming...and yea, pretty much got a decent PC in the meantime.
