GSC Closed and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Canceled - briefly

PC Gamer is reporting a rumor that GSC Game World has closed, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been canceled. A Ukranian news site is reporting that the developers of Stalker and Stalker 2, GSC have shut down their studio. An 'informed source' told them that founder and CEO, Sergei Grigorovich made the announcement at a staff meeting, saying that the company was closing because of unspecified 'personal reasons.' RPS spotted a tweet from the company denying that GSC has been closed, but that has since been deleted. If true, it would be a sudden and very sad turn of events. We’ll know what’s happening for certain when GSC make official comment.

I hope this isn't true. I have all three stalker titles, and while the second two haven't managed to hold my attention, I loved the first one very much and was hoping they'd return to glory with stalker 2. Please GSC, don't go! Note: On a modern PC, the 'complete' mods for the stalker games really give them a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended!

Couldn't believe my eyes either, when I read about GSC closing. Still can't believe it. But seems to be very true. I've read statements on forums from other developers from Kiev who are close to GSC team members.
God, this hurts. Stalker 2 cancelled...

stalker was a great game, but broken and unfinished. how can you guys not believe they closed? the rest of there games were BROKEN AND UNFINISHED. horrible studio with great ideas.
