well, I do think rockstar should name the game GTA3:VC, instead of GTA:VC. it's just sort of an expansion pack of GTA3 really. the misleading title makes you expect much more than GTA3, and when you find it actually doesn't vary much, you get disappointed somewhat. Yes all the fun in GTA3 still remains, but it's getting old. The plot in GTA3 is actually better than GTA:VC, and since the missions are still just run here kill that type, it grow boring rather soon. I finished GTA3 100%.. but for VC I've just finished the missions and left it be. Still a good game, but don't expect any experience different than GTA3.

damn this game is sweet. i like it how you can blow up car tires with a gun or police put spike strips on the road. killing someone in the car is cool too which couldn't be done in GTA3

"The remote grenade detonator bug is really pissing me off" what do you mean? I use them quite often and I have no problems at all with them. What I also really like, is that I can play VC in a higher resolution then GTA3 and it runs BETTER! It's so much more smoother, I love it :D

great game. better that GTA3 (faster, story, level design, the bikes :). a game where you can do What You Want. and as the review said: "has really incredible replay value". GTA3VC is worth the cash (i hate "play it once and trow it away" games).

ok here is a cool tip i tried today cause i was bored, when you ahve much money, go to an ammunition shop, buy an m16 (or is it an m6 i am not sure, a rifle), and ammunition for lets say 60.000$. then start shooting, the "smart" cops enter only through the front door, lets just say i ended having four tanks in front of the shop trying to enter through the door ;-)

i really like this game with loads of goodies, vehicles and weapons to keep u busy. Im on the rooftop bike mission, man its tricky never mind. I hope they let u walk around the city with a few gang members to cover your ass. Another thing is ROCKSTAR why dont u capatalise on the PC market and make a series of MODS for GTA VC, the engine is almost perfect and all you need is a change of venue and gangs with a few new models too. I reckon that the next two GTA installments will be based in the 70's and 60's, you heard it here ;)

i think the main reason why the game runs so well, is mainly cause they use some kind of traffic generator instead of simulating the traffic. you notice that when you turn around and back again, the cars that you first saw are always gone, except if they were very close. also you notice that the same type of vehicles or persons are often together. not to mention the situations were you dont have car, but you need one and none is there... this is probably the reason why they didnt make a multiplayer option yet, for that they couldnt just generate stuff for every user, you would need more performance. but still the game rocks, easy no brain fun, always good for a quickie, with good old 80s style, those were the glory days.

that was also in gta3, i remember turning around all the time and new cars just popped up out of nowhere, so it's not a new thing in VC.

yeah its no new thing,thats true, but i didnt see a multiplayer option for gta3 anyway, same problem then same problem now, if you can call it a problem, i think its just their solution for keeping framerate high. anyway, everybody knows vice city is more or less jsut an addon to gta3, so i dont understand the first person at the start who complained about it. MAFIA still is superior in almost every aspect, graphic, realism, story... but hten again, they dont try the same thing, as i said once, if mafia is the best restaurant in town, gta3 is the best fast food company in town.

oh and i think we should also mention one thing, its a great game, but the AI is poor. not to mention the cops, youc an do almost every shit near them, they wont bust you. i remember gta3 was a little stricter on that later in the game. not to mention MAFIA, you pass a red light you better run boy!

Here are my 2 gripes with this game. Keep in mind that even with these 2 gripes, it's still a great game. #1 No Multiplay, I know this is beating a dead horse but it wouldn't have been that hard to do. Just need smaller maps with and less NPC (or an option to change the amount for those with beefy servers). #2 The controls are horrid. It's quite obvious that the control scheme was designed for a console then pasted (with that nice kindergaden white paste) onto a PC keyboard. Should have adapted the controls so it played like a REAL 3rd person shooter (ala Max Payne at least). Thants it, still a great game.

Probably should have been more clear. They're not as fluid as a real 3rd person shooter. Somewhat stop and go. Also don't like the fact that can't move and use certain guns. Boats are a bitch to use as are helicopters. Driving controls do just fine.

THEY ARE THINGS THAT COULD BE DONE TO IMPROVE THE GAME AND SHOULD BE DONE FOR FUTURE VERSIONS. FOR THE MOST PART THE GAME IS THE BEST GAME I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. ITS SWEEEET. Great graphics, gameplay, story, and sound track! First GTA I've played, and I'm addidicted. Only thing I found a bit "quarky" was the fact that whenever you look away then look back the vehicles, etc change. Other than that, two thumbs up.

I am surprised that how come the author mentions that he has a doubt that there are many gamers out there that have not heard about Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, well to me this game is famous since the release of GTA 2 and GTA3 when released on PC. There is no doubt that ROCKSTAR GAMERS have proved themselves infact the way they have handled the story line the graphics the soundtrack SIMPLY SUPERB.The game is such a naturally way that stunts the player, i hope and wish that ROCKSTAR continues with this series of their GTA Wish them best of luck GREAT GAME

Comments to BrainSurgeon: Just like teaching you to read is impossible, you can't change the way certain guns fire and the slight pause before directional movements. Step off the Short Bus before you call others "Retarded"-- For the Rest: While the pause before movements is a slight, put that in any other 3rd person shooter or even a FPS and it costs lives. And yes, like anything else it can be ignored but should it have to be? I get the feeling that pause comes from porting it from playstation2 but I never played the PS2 version. If you pushed the analog stick a little bit, does that cause walking in the PS2 version?

forgot to mention that, I ran into somebody near the beach and found she's actually a japanese tourist with an old style camera hanging on her neck.. saying "sorry" in japanease to me, guess there are just many details around in the game await player to discover.

These are the following recomendations GTA 4 ! 1- Cops on BIKES 2- Cops go after ppl SHOOTING U 3- Blow up buildings (TNT) 4- Selection of BIKES inc Mountain Bike 5- Ability to walk around the city with a maximum of 3 Gang members to assist u if needed (missions are more difficult the more members assisting you) 6- Ability to tell gang members to patrol,guard or stay on any point in the city. 7- Ability to use online music radio stations to play via game. 8- More gangs and gang fights, spilling out from malls, shops and streets ! 9- Larger cities like MAFIA ! 10- GTA dude can SWIM,DIVE (snorkel kit), but sharks live in deep waters and he may be EATEN ! thats all for now ;)

I think I now also encountered the remote grenade bug. If you enter a vehicle before making it explode, it will turn all your grenades in normal ones :/

he means by the remote bug detonator that YOUR CHEATING, when you put in the gun codes like professional tools the grenades get stuck and when you throw one and detonate it, it stays there, that or you just press the fire button too fast go figure! lol

GTA VC is great... played on 19'' max res. cooooolllllllllllll !! i hope GTA4 with MP to make all missions (more 100..200'll be marvellous), co-op mode with very large city... many friends (and my wife too) would like to play in that mode.

My favourite station is WILDSTYLE and FAV track is "Grandmaster Flash - The Message" I noticed ROCKSTAR muffled the first few words from the ORIGINAL which goes like this "Broken glass everywhere, People pissing on the stairs, you know they just don't care" Great Track well suited for GTA VC, would of been nice if the put some NWA in there 2 that was THE 80's in USA ghettos !

This game is repetetive and boring after about 2 hrs. Rent it yes ... buy it no. Aas well, too many bugs. This is another title rushed out the door to feed demand. When will gamers stop tolerating this?

The game's idea is cool. Only one problem is that choppers ant boats are hardly controled!!! Too little freedom of own actions. It would be nice if creators of this game put in next version the opportunity to speak with people on your own. One thing more: too little buildings to buy!

cool....game even requires less hardware than GTA3! yes that`s true...gta3 moved bad on my comuter(800x600, all low), but Vice city moves with 1024x768 all turned on...nothing! smooth framerate!

man thats right,i have a 2.4amd cpu whit 256 of ram and mother board tryton gygabyte 8x whit a GFORCEFX5200 128 MEGABYTES DDR 8X AND GTA 3 slowed down my machine but i been playing vice city at 1600 very smooth,what ever the game really rocks the fact of hear real 80 music was a so nice touch and the sense of humor is so greath at diference of gta 3 not only that this dude,tommy vercety have more style and add more fun to the game that the retard character of gta3 this game rule and if you dont have played before just go and buy it,i have to admit i spended more that 8 hours playing this game whit lot of joints and was cool :P

i got this vice city pc game that i dl from a p2p and im trying to put this need patch 1.1 in order to play in the net but it is strange cuz when i try to install the patch it tell me "unknown version" p.s. when i istall my vc version pc game it said for test evaulation... plz help me on what to do thank you

yea you now like not onlye when your turn around tehres just popping a car when you look and see a car coming turn a full round en when you look the car dissapeas:P but the game is cool with a few nice mods its even better
