Rockstar Games sent out a press release announcing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the next iteration in the globally successful Grand Theft Auto franchise. Developed by world-class designers Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 2 and is expected to be in stores in North America on October 19, 2004 and in Europe on October 22, 2004.

I liked the first GTA3 for PC. VC sucked imo it was made for ppl with slow assed PC's :| less cars on screen less people on screen and yett so many ppl screamed how much better it was the the 1st GTA3. Also VC pissed me off was set in the old times, i prefer new fast cars and more explosions. Though i think the bikes are really cool in VC. Sony bastards making it exclusive to PSX :| anyway nothing comes close to PC games graphic wise and modding community. Let em PSX users beta test GTA for us :D

I agree its about time ROCKSTAR divorced SONY the whining BIATCH....... PC is the market ! i guess ROCKTART have done this to prevent the likes of MTAVC who have done a great job in adding life into the game. PC is and will always be the FUTURE of GAMING !!! so ROCKTART you corporate BIATCHES get the FOOK OFF... i reckon more and more MTAVC online servers will be running and i'll get my FIX that way you cant BEAT IT MTAVC you guys deserve the noble peace prize !

LA all i have to say is ok..... as for gta:sa its gonna suck weather you like it or not the same gta3 engine terrible draw distance low poly models i'll just wait for a pc conversion 6-9 months after the console release

gta 3 engine is crap and i agree with dddde gta 3 was a lot better than vice city.They will most likely make the game also for pc.gta3 and gta:vc were also ps2 exclusive when they were announced

The GTA3 engine is NOT crap. Period. At 1600x1200, it whips. GTA:VC didn't suck -- they did a nice job enhancing the textures from the console version. As for GTA:SA... i was hoping for maybe a futuristic GTA or one set in the 1960's. Or an R-rated/XXX-rated version of GTA3. =)

im hoping rockstar follow mta's lead and add lan and online play to vice city.. Gta3 is cool.. but i still like vice city more, mostly because of all the additions.. i cant wait to see what we are in for with GTA:SA... HOPEFULLY MULTIPLAYER :D:D FINGAZ CROSSED :P

GTA3 was better over GTA:VC because 1) main character with no name, 2) modern cars, 3) three islands become available slower. GTA:VC is better over GTA3 because 1) chicks in bikini's 2) stripper club 3) porn film studio 4) motorbikes 6) buying out the town. ROCKSTAR - if you want the next GTA to rule, add multiplayer coz Jax and me said so. Also, make it easier to mod vehicles please!!! And more nudity too plz.

What the foo dddde - ddd Vice Citys graphics were 50 times better then GTA 3's VC has way better textures and sweeter cars and everything. San Andreas? Sounds like the GTA franchis is running out of gas with a game modeled on that city and the name, thats a shitass name no doubt. They better port it to PC though or there lossing 90% of there sales cause everyone owns VC for pc. They better release it on Pc or PCGamer will have to put the stupid prats in there place. "Spits at consoles"

i prefer to see a 1970's version of GTA New Yorker ! But this time when you have more influence over gangs you should be able to have up to 3 bodyguards looking out for you ! They enter vehicles when you do, run with you, kill with you and sometimes prevent potential rival gangs from sneaking up on you ! Maybe something from the movie Assault On Precinct 13 more rival gang fighting and cooperation against police etc more civil unrest !

i personally think that gta 3 was awesome. i liked GTA VC for the bikes, helicopters, wider range of guns and the islands were bigger than GTA3 by almost 3 times. but i still like the main guy from gta3. plus the engine is not crap. for a game that is so big and has so much to do or load the engine is pretty dam good. this engine does a crap load and most games are so linear and that is why those games have good graphics. gta's engine has good graphics, lots of cars each with different speeds, handlings and guns. so the gta 3 and gta vc deserve some respect. i mean look at true crime, driver 3 and all the gta3 wannabes. go rockstar

although console games outsell pc games by 7:1, games are easier to pirate on pc then console... thus the ratio.. pc is more popular wif gamers. it is fact that a pc halo player can kick the console halo players ass anytime any day...
