Microsoft sent out a press release letting everyone know that Games for Windows Live is receiving an update aimed at deterring piracy and increasing the awesomeness of microtransactions in PC games: What's dubbed as "zero-day piracy protection" works alongside server-side authentication to help prevent piracy before a game's release date and protect publishers by requiring online authentication to play any online multiplayer modes. The upgrade will also include an all-new Marketplace API allowing developers to create unique in-game stores for the sale of additional game content. Finally, 'Roaming' allows Games For Windows users to save their personal settings and gain access to these from any compatible and connected Windows PC.

Yeah no kidding :P what a waste of money. I guess there's still dreamers out there that think they can curb pirating. :roll: Heck, I still can't believe people game online with PC's. Talk about total @#$@%@! waste of time. :?

This windows LIVE thing is already killing the legal customer base, more and more honest people are getting sick of this constant internet activity while they only want to play again (without LIVE bloat and system impact) and once again the pirate groups will get rid of this junk, and once again the illegal gamers will play without all that hassle and lowlevel system crap.
