Quandary has written a new preview of the upcoming adventure from Prelusion, Gilbert Goodmate.
"I won't waste too much time on the story. The sacred mushroom of Phungoria has been stolen whilst Gilbert's grandfather was on guard duty. So Gilbert sets out on a quest to save gramps from capital punishment at the hands of the villainous Sheriff! It's a pleasant enough fairy tale which keeps the narrative romping along and introduces you to a huge cast of eccentric but simpatico characters (all very humorous ... some absolutely hilarious), and a vast number of different locations. There are some highly original and humorous Credits at the end ... almost unique! You are never killed, nor do you fight at all ... sorry action/adventurers! There are no mazes and no musical &/or audio puzzles which some players can't abide. There is one sliding puzzle, but one of the smallest and easiest I've ever encountered (and you can even save it 'in the middle'!). There are none of the 'common' type of puzzles:- i.e. mechanical, mathematical, encryption, combination-lock, passcard, pattern recognition, glyphs, chess, etc. But the game is full of 'inventory based' puzzles; a few somewhat esoteric. This may be a relief to some players but a yawn for others." [more]
