Gamers received an confirmation from Midway that the PC edition of
Gauntlet: Seven
Sorrows, a game which The Romero had been working on, has been cancelled. No
reasons for the decision are provided, though it possible this is related to
recent departures of John Romero and J.E. Sawyer from Midway, as both were
involved in this project. The console versions (PS2/Xbox) are still in
development and will be released this winter.
In related news, Midway Games has acquired Ratbag Holdings, a game
development studio based in Adelaide, South Australia. The studio is currently
working on several unannounced Midway products for both current- and
next-generation systems. The studio will be renamed Midway Studios - Australia.
