- Silverfall Interview -
The first part of an interview with Silverfall's project lead, Jehanne
Steiner, is up at RPG Vault.
- Infernal Delay - Playlogic announced release plans for
Infernal,
revealing another delay for Metropolis Software's third-person shooter. The
game is now expected this spring, following a prior delay that put its
release in Q1 of this year.
- Two Worlds Turns Into MMO Title - Southpeak Interactive sent over
a press release announcing a change in the multiplayer portion of
Two Worlds, the
upcoming fantasy RPG from developer Reality Pump Studios. According to the
press release the eight-player multiplayer componant has been expanded to
thousands of players at one time, making Two Worlds an MMO title. The MMO
features are only for the PC version for now; the Xbox 360 version at the
moment still has the standard multiplayer features.
- Bungie Weekly Update -
The newest Bungie weekly update
is all about the Halo Pentathlon, the Halo 3 two-on-two contest, action
figures and more.
- JAZZ: Hired Guns -
This Funcom FTP directory offers three different sizes of a new "field
of the dead" movie from Age of Conan, the upcoming Hyborian Age MMORPG.
- Spectrobes Trailer #2 -
The two-minute movie demonstrates the many unique gameplay features of
the anime-inspired action/role-playing game, including excavation,
awakening, and cultivating Spectrobes.
- DOOM 3 Patches v1.31 -
As noted in Timothee Besset's .plan File, new patches are now available
for DOOM 3, updating the PC, Mac, and Linux editions of id Software's
first-person shooter sequel to version 1.31, and also updated the associated
SDKs. You can download all the patches at various web sites including

- Stronghold Legends Patch v1.2 - 2K GAMES now offers
a new patch for Stronghold Legends, updating the besieged strategy
sequel to version 1.2. The new version addresses a lengthy list of bugs and
also adds a bunch of new features.
- Quake 4 Community Map Pack - The official id Software web site
now has uploaded all 34
maps (download
~ 86MB) that were submitted for their Quake 4 community map pack contest
into one file that can be downloaded from their site.
- BF2142 Beta - The EA Forums now offer the promised
beta 1.20 patch for Battlefield 2142. Word is: "You'll be able to keep
the stats you earn during Beta. We'd really like people to jump on ranked
servers during the Beta so we won't be taking away your achievements."
- Red Faction 3? - THQ is hinting that
Red
Faction 3 is in the works.
- $20 Million On Lost Planet Marketing - Forbes.com has an
interesting article on Capcom's marketing for Lost Planet, their recent Xbox
360 action game. Capcom has made it a big point to develop and market games
for the US and the article reveals that for
Lost Planet Capcom spent $20 million just for ads and marketing, the
same amount that went into the development of the game itself. So where did
that twenty mill go? Theater advertising, the two Xbox Live demos, TV spots,
community funding—it all costs money. Apparently, a lot of money.
- Xbox 360 Achievement Score Update -
If you are one of the people that like to crank up your gamers score by
earning every achievement possible, this update at Gamerscoreblog might be
of interest to you. Microsoft has revamped the gamers score system a bit
raising the 1,000 point per game limit to 1,250 and up to 250 for XBL

- Wii-J - Mix & Move - What happens when you tie the motion
controls of
two Wii remotes to DJ software?
- Lunar Knights Gameplay Trailer -
DS.IGN has just put up a new trailer for Lunar Knights, the upcoming DS
game by Kojima Productions. The trailer shows off a dark sci-fi world of
vampire hunting and contains significant amounts of gamplay footage covering
touch-screen space battles, puzzle solving, exploration, battles, top-notch
animated cut-scenes all set to a groovy soundtrack.
- Console Makers Prep For 65nm -
Sony and Microsoft are prepping for the transition to 65nm which, aside
from the performance / thermal benefits, will bring down manufacturing cost
significantly. Even though the Xbox 360 has been rumored to already be close
to breaking even, this report estimates a $126 loss per console while the
PS3 is said to be losing over $300.
- PS2 Outsells PS3 In Weekly Sales -
Sales of the PS3 are having a bit of a problem outselling the PS2 in
Japan. In the same week, the Wii outsold the PS3 by four times.
