Game Informer shuts down after 33 years - briefly

Game Informer, the longest running video games magazine in the United States, will shut down after 33 years of operation, the publication announced.
According to a Kotaku report, staff at the magazine were called into a meeting today with parent company GameStop’s vice president of human resources in which they were told the publication was closing immediately, and all staff would be laid off and begin receiving severance. At least one staff member was reportedly in the middle of a work trip when the team was told.
The next and final issue of Game Informer, issue 367, will feature Dragon Age: The Veilguard as its cover story. |
