The Steam Deck is officially released today, and as the portable gaming PC begins shipping out to some buyers, Valve co-founder Gabe Newell sees the new handheld having an impact on the PC space akin to how Apple' iPhone impacted the mobile phone industry. Relatedly, he says demand has been 'a lot higher than we expected.'

“Demand has been a lot higher” =marketing talk for ‘you better buy one as we have millions sitting in the warehouse’, or we can’t make them and wish we had taken the opportunity.
Plus the shortage and price of silicone worldwide has put dampener’s on car sales - down 65%. So there’s a knock-on effect for everyone. It’s more an American thing anyway, especially with the PC and Xbox tie in. I’d rather just play my pc or take my laptop when I’m not in the house, plus it’s more productive.
