Left 4 Dead preview - GamesRadar has a
Left 4 Dead preview: To make a total player count of eight, four
other players have spawned as four special zombies who live happily among
the ravenous hordes. The Boomer, a fat flesh-balloon filled with explosive
gases and zombie-attracting vomit. The Hunter, a quick and agile zombie who
jumps out of dark corners. The Smoker, with his 50-foot prehensile tongue.
- Portal Preview -
The heavily physics-based puzzle game is equal parts unique and
entertaining, allowing you to bend the laws of virtual physics in ways
first-person shooters have barely scratched to date.
- 1701 A.D. Patch -
A new patch for 1701 A.D. is now available, updating the North American
edition of the strategy sequel also known as Anno 1701 to version 1.02
- Company Of Heroes Patch v1.51 -
A new patch for the Relic-THQ WWII RTS game Company of Heroes has been
released, updating the version number of the game to 1.51
- Phantasy Star Universe Expansion Announced - The expansion, which
will be titled
Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus, will be released this
fall as a retail product for the PS2 and PC versions and as a downloadable
game for the Xbox 360 console.
- TrackMania United US date - Focus Home Interactive now offers
June 11, 2007 as the specific North American release date for
TrackMania United,
the racing/building game that had previously carried the more general
release window of spring
- Numen announced - Akella Company officially announces
Numen, their upcoming action/RPG.
- Deprived Revealed - A new Tempe, AZ based game developer named
Diesel
Games has announced its presence, revealing that the company is working
on a PC-Xbox 360 survival horror FPS game called
Deprived.
- Mata Hari Announced -
ANACONDA/dtp announces Mata Hari, a point-and-click adventure based on
the exotic spy slated to infiltrate Germany, Switzerland, and Austria early
next year, though no mention is made of plans to release the game elsewhere.
- The Hell in Vietnam Revealed -
The Hell in Vietnam Product Section (gameplay
video) reveals development of a new game from CITY Interactive based on
the controversial war in Southeast Asia.
- Inhabited Island Becomes Galactic Assault - Paradox Interactive
announced that it has signed a new turn-based strategy Sci-Fi adventure
through Akella. Galactic Assault, previously known under the working name
Inhabited Island is developed by Wargaming.net and scheduled to release
worldwide during Q3, 2007.

- Starcraft 2 Reveal In Mid-May? -
Rumors
have been flying on the Internet that Blizzard intends to officially
announce they are developing the long awaited sci-fi RTS sequel
Starcraft 2 at Blizzard's World Wide Invitation tournament in South
Korea on May 19.
Kotaku got a response from Blizzard confirming there will be a product
announcement: " We do intend to announce a new product at the Worldwide
Invitational next month in Korea, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and
interest in getting an advance look at what that will be, but players will
have to wait until May 19th to find out more. Also, we have a very strong
connection with the characters and settings of StarCraft, and we do plan to
revisit that universe at some point in the future, but we don't have
anything new to announce in that regard at present."
- Next 3DMark To Be DirectX10/Vista Only -
Futuremark's Nick Renqvist revealed that the next version of their
popular PC benchmarking software 3DMark will only work on Windows Vista and
DirectX10 compatible video cards.
- Manhunt 2 preview (PS2, PSP, Wii) - GameSpot has the first online
preview of Manhunt 2: The core gameplay that was so appealing is
intact and expanded on in smart ways. The visuals, though not next gen, are
stylish and nicely done for the platform. The story looks cool so far, with
a crazy X-Files-esque conspiracy under the surface and some Jacob's Ladder
"Am I insane?" touches thrown in for good measure.

Ken Kutaragi, the creator of Sony's Playstation business, has decided to
resign from Sony
- Playstation Eye Announced -
This Sony Playstation press release officially announces Playstation
Eye, the new USB camera-microphone add-on for their PS3 console. The add-on
is due to be released this summer but no pricing was announced.
- Nintendo President Promises More Wii Production -
Yahoo reports that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has promised to boost
production of their hard-to-find Wii console for shipments next month.
