- How Success Killed Duke Nukem - Wired has posted an intriguing article
that chronicles the failed development of 3D Realms Duke Nukem Forever.
- Name a Star Trek ship class for Star Trek Online -
Cryptic is giving future Star Trek Online cadets the opportunity (PDF) to name
three different classes of starship in the game's universe. Make sure
to read the full details regarding submissions [PDF link] before
submitting ideas, which are due by January 8, 2010. Winners will
receive a copy of the game and poster depicting their named class,
which they can then fly when the game launches on February 2,
2010.
- Just Cause 2 'An Island in Chaos' Trailer - Gamers can expect to fling themselves
anywhere and everywhere on March 23, 2010 when Just Cause 2
is released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms.
- Project Reality SP v0.87 Holiday Map Pack Released
(BF2) - Project Reality released a single
player holiday map pack today that features three new maps plus a bonus
map called Operation Snow Storm.
- ARMA II EW Bonus Campaign Hotfix Available -
The patch (download)
fixes problems with entering vehicles and on of the endings. This bonus
campaign hotfix requires any original version of ARMA 2 version 1.05.
- Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta Next Month? - Gamestop has listed the Bad
Company 2 PC beta as starting on January 28th. The site also states the
beta will end on February 25. This is not confirmed, although a similar
situation happened with the Playstation 3 beta and it ended up being
correct.
- PT Boats: Knights of the Sea available via
download - While the downloadable version of the game
is available now, the box copy version will be mailed out to orders in
14 to 21 days. The mail order box version contains the game, a manual
and a ship guide that is unique to the mail order edition. A demo for
the game is still scheduled for release in the next few days.
- World of Warcraft Magazine Preview - A 40-page preview of the official
World of Warcraft Magazine is online on the official magazine
subscription page, giving you a brief taste of the first 148-page ad
free magazine that will run $39.95 for the first year of quarterly
issues.
- FINAL FANTASY XIV Details - The
official FINAL FANTASY XIV website has a
batch of new screenshots depicting both in-game action and
cutscenes.
- Open PS2 Loader v0.6 for PS3 with Source Code is
Now Available - A few weeks ago Ifcaro released Open
PS2 Loader v0.5 for PS3, and now the homebrew application for
PS3 has been updated to Open
PS2 Loader v0.6 complete with source code! For those unaware,
this utility allows for loading PS2 iSO images on PlayStation 3
consoles with PS2 support... meaning it must be a non-Slim PlayStation
3 model with (4) USB ports.
