  • Battlestar Galactica Hits PC - Long awaited by fans of the sci-fi space drama, Auran's Battlestar Galactica arrives on PC and Xbox Live Arcade next week. The game packs ten single-player missions, said to be inspired by the show, and supports online play with up to 8 players on Xbox 360 and 16 on PC. Priced at $19.99, the PC version will be downloadable from what publisher Sierra refers to as the 'top online gaming portals' beginning Tuesday, October 23. The Xbox 360 edition will appear in the online Xbox Live Marketplace the following day, Wednesday, October 24, at 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

  • Heroes of Might and Magic V Patch 1.06 - Ubisoft has issued a new patch for Heroes of Might and Magic V, bringing the popular game developed by Nival Interactive to v1.06.
  • Universal Combat Patches v1.00.03.01 - 3000AD, Inc. has issued a new patch for Universal Combat Collectors' Edition, updating to v1.00.03.01
  • Hellgate: London Demo Plagued With Ad-Ware? -  Unsurprisingly, it looks like the newly released Hellgate: London demo contains some in-game advertisement. What are your thoughts?   • GameTap Approaches 1,000 Games, Offers Free Sam & Max - GameTap will celebrate the addition of its 1,000th game on November 15. With the milestone less than a month away, the lead-up will be marked by a number of high profile game releases for paying members. Subscribers will gain access to Mercury Steam's creepy shooter Clive Barker's Jericho (PC, PS3, X360) on October 23, the same day it hits retail. The conclusion to the current season of Cyan Worlds' episodic series Myst Online: Uru Live (PC) follows November 1, with the second season of Telltale Games' episode-based adventure franchise Sam & Max (PC) beginning November 8.
  • Soldier Of Fortune: Payback Banned In Australia  - Herald Sun has posted up word that the country's Classifications Board has refused to give a rating to Soldier of Fortune: Payback, the upcoming first person shooter from developer Cauldron and publisher Activision.
  • New Command & Conquer TV - Command & Conquer TV now offers episode two of Aftermath, offering the aftershow for episode two of BattleCast Primetime.
  • Sega Superstars Tennis Announced - Sega has officially announced Sega Superstars Tennis, an upcoming tennis game that will be developed by Sumo Digital for release in early 2008 for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS consoles.
  • No Downloadable Metal Gear Solid 4 Demo (PS3) - The latest Kojima Productions podcast confirms that there will in fact be no downloadable demo for Konami's upcoming PS3 action game Metal Gear Solid 4 before the game itself ships to stores in early 2008.
  • Sony Reveals US 40GB PS3 Release Date - This Sony press release announces that the 40GB $399 version of their Playstation 3 console will begin to appear in stores on Nov. 2 in the US (it has already been released in Europe and Australia). The new version will come bundled with the Blu-Ray port of the Spider-Man 3 movie but won't have any PS2-PS1 backwards compatiblity. In addition, the current 80GB version of the PS3 immediately gets a price reduction to $499.

I knew that this would be banned somewhere. It's pretty obvious that it's OTT.
Anyone remember Carmageddon being banned because of the old lady in the zimmer; "I was in the war!" :lol:

Besides SoF is a bit too political for what is happening in Iraq etc. (it's the first thing i thought of when i seen the clips)
You can see as much real viceral action on YouTube and the like and SoF has, imo, crossed that boundary.
When does the game begin and the reality references stop? By all means make it a fun shooter, but does it always have to be controversial :roll:

Rainbow Six: Vegas had the same 'massive' in-game adverts etc. I just played it offline and blocked it from downloading/connecting with ZoneAlarm.
Whether Hellgate can be blocked the sameway offline, don't care about MP with crap software that violates your rights as a gamer, i'll soon find out.

Slightly OT but in the UK the watchdogs slammed subliminal advertising in progs on TV that clearly where sponsoring products and getting paid too!
This being license payers money -since we have to have a TV license to view this $hit!.

EDIT: well it could be full of urine for all i care..this is the pants :roll:
