- ARMA 2 Free DLC Plans - Amongst other
things the upcoming 1.05 patch features a
new warfare mode 'When Diplomacy Fails', including 3-side support for
diplomacy between all factions allowing players to enjoy the strategic
part of the game in a size never seen before. Warfare mode is a unique
gaming experience first introduced in ARMA: Armed Assault. The mode
combines tactical FPS gameplay with strategic elements which allow
players to either join the fight in the front lines attacking the enemy
directly, or to crush them in a commander position giving orders to
other players whilst managing resources and the main base. Moreover
each player is allowed to lead his own squad. Up to 32 players are
supported, this multiplayer mode is a true war experience. The patch is
expected to release later this month
- Mass Effect 2 Shows the Voice Talent - A new trailer
from Mass Effect 2 is online, featuring the recently announced star
voice cast for BioWare's upcoming RPG sequel. The clip shows gameplay,
interview footage of the cast, and examples of their voice acting. Mass
Effect 2 is slated for a PC and Xbox 360 release on January 26, 2010.
- Splinter Cell Conviction Video Diary #3 - A third developer diary
from Splinter Cell Conviction is now available where some of the
developers at Ubisoft Montreal discuss the upcoming stealth/action
sequel
- Saboteur ATI Fix Soon - The Saboteur
Forums have word that a fix is on the way for ATI issues
with The Saboteur, as well as some other glitches. Word is: 'Currently,
we have a possible fix (in the way of a patch) that is being internally
tested. Although the ATI graphics card issue is the most pressing, we
have also received reports from the community of some other issues
based on specific PC configurations. We are closely monitoring those
issues as well and testing internally to determine if those reported'.
- Irukandji and Demo - Charlie's
Games announces the release of Irukandji (video) for Windows, Mac OS X, and
Linux. The game is described as a "fun score attack shooter, set in an
abstract underwater trench.
- Diablo II Beta Patch 1.13 - The
Battle.net Forums announce the long-awaited version 1.13 patch for Diablo II is on the
Play Test Realm for Blizzard's action/RPG sequel.
- Aliens Vs Predator collector's editions revealed
for UK release - The Survivor edition of the
Rebellion-developed game will come in a steel case and have a code
where players can download extra multiplayer map. The Hunter edition
comes with the map download code along with a posable facehugger
model a 3D postcard and a patch with the symbol of the
franchise's evil Weyland Yutani corporation. The game is expected to be
released in mid-February.
- Borderlands Gets an Unannounced 360 Update - Users
signing into Borderlands today on their Xbox 360 consoles will get a
new little patch to download. What's it fix? Some stuff... most
importantly that there are now five rows of text in the
inventory descriptors. There's no official notice about this
yet, just a change log being compiled by users.
- New Super Street Fighter IV Stages Revealed -
Looks like the Elena from Street Fighter III
will be one of the next fighters added to the roster.
- Dante's Inferno – The entire demo in a
20-minute video - Hit the links (#1,#2, #3, #4, #5) for 20 minutes of
Dante’s Inferno gameplay, encompassing the entire demo
released to the US PSN yesterday. This is the first section from the
game itself, so don’t watch if you’re worried about
spoilers. The game's out on February 5 for PS3 and 360. The 360 demo
releases in both the US and Europe on Christmas Eve. Shame no PC.
- Modern Warfare 2 Patch Fixes Javelin Exploit - Joining
the PC
and PlayStation 3 editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the Xbox
360 release of Infinity Ward's shooter has received an update meant to
remove the infamous and exploitable Javelin glitch from multiplayer.
- Atari gets new CEO - Atari has
announced that it has a new CEO in Jeff Lapin.
Lapin, who was named Chief Operating Officer of Atari last May,
replaces David Gardner in the CEO position. There is no word as to why
Gardner is departing but he will still be a member of the company's
board of directors. Atari has been moving its development into more
online oriented games such as last September's Champions Online and
Star Trek Online which will ship to stores on February 1.
