The PC version easily has the best graphics of the three versions currently announced with some sharp looking level textures, detailed character models, and realistic looking character animations (the game uses a modified version of Io’s Hitman engine) Yet it’s the game’s control of the squad and its AI that continue to impress. In the demo we played, we controlled five members to attack a Soviet stronghold in an urban level. We could order our members of the team to attack targets, fall back or regroup around Stone. However, the AI of our teammates was pretty smart on their own and managed to do a lot of damage to the enemy. The Soviet forces are pretty smart as well, however, so you can’t just rely on your AI recruits to do all the work for you. Indeed if you manage to command a squad well you will up your charisma levels (an RPG lite feature in the game) that will enable you as Stone to control more freedom fighters.
