Fox News 'expert' apologizes for Mass Effect smear - briefly

While Fox News is apparently unwilling to admit it was wrong about the 'facts' it presented about the BioWare developed Xbox 360 sci-fi RPG Mass Effect, The New York Times reports that the 'expert' brought in by Fox News to attack the game has admitted she was wrong. Cooper Lawrence, an author and radio talk show host, attacked the game on air, agreeing with Fox News's 'facts' about Mass Effect's full frontal nudity and graphics sex despite admitting she had never played the game. A ton of irate gamers went on the attack, going to Amazon.com and giving unfavorable reviews on Lawrence's latest book. Now Lawrence has admitted her mistake. In an interview on Friday, she had the following to say: "I recognize that I misspoke," she said. "I really regret saying that, and now that I've seen the game and seen the sex scenes it's kind of a joke. "Before the show I had asked somebody about what they had heard, and they had said it's like pornography," she added. "But it's not like pornography. I've seen episodes of 'Lost' that are more sexually explicit." (thanks FiringSquad)
