Richard just gave me permission to post the first screenshots taken from JA3D. Keep in mind that these are very early screens but this oughta give you all something to talk about over the weekend :) This is probably a pre-alpha version, meaning that there's still a lot of work to be done. I was just as surprised as you to see those today :)

My best guess is that these were made with the Alpha engine ("Alpha" the game).

It's actually ALFA and I believe you are correct. That partially explains why MiST has been able to pull something together so quickly, since the basic engine is already ready to use.
