Toshiyuki Itahana, one of the main character designers on Final Fantasy IX, as well as the character designer on the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Chocobo series, has left Square Enix to work as a freelancer, he announced.

After concluding my work on the FINAL FANTASY IX 25th Anniversary project,
I left Square Enix at the end of last year.
From this year onward, I will be working as a freelance illustrator.
