SimHQ has posted a Falcon 5.0 interview with Eric Marlow, Executive Producer of Force 12 Studios.
Q: Let's forget the technicalities of the deal right now....create your dream sim for us. Will the F-16 still be the central 'player'? What aircraft will be modeled?
A: Well, the product is named FALCON after all! The F-16C will remain preeminent in the Falcon products to come. We actually see two models of the Falcon coming out of the box: the block 40/42 "Night Falcon" with FLIR and targeting pods, as well as the block 50/52 with all the MSIP upgrades. That being said, I think there is opportunity to add additional aircraft that will open up the experience for those who like to go air-to-air and those who consider themselves ground-pounders. We will be adding the F-15C and F-15E to the Falcon line. And strap in for this one: it’s one of our design principles to include frontseat/backseat multiplayer, with all the interaction that goes along with it. :)
Q: You plan to develop, for lack of a better name, FALCON 5.0. What environment will you model and why?
A:Our working title is "Falcon V." We are using the Roman number "V" to denote the next product instead of "5.0," as we feel it gives the product the sense of stature and significance that it deserves. As far as the environment, the campaign scenarios and terrain will model the regions of the Taiwan Straits. Most of you probably are looking at our choice here with a "sly eye," but I must give you a bit of background here: my soon-to-be wife’s family is making me do it ;-) She’s from Taiwan and I told them I’d be there to protect them if the PRC invades.
