Fake DDR5 memory sticks are flooding PC markets, especially in Asia, as RAM prices keep rising due to shortages and scalping. Counterfeit modules often look like real Samsung SO-DIMM sticks but use plastic dummy chips instead of actual DRAM. Buyers report rounded edges, wrong colors, mismatched chips, and non-working contacts on these fakes sold on sites like Yahoo Japan auctions. Many "junk" listings offer no returns, leaving people with dead systems after installation.
