The three apps – which are all owned by Facebook, and run on shared infrastructure – stopped working shortly before 5pm. Other related products, such as Facebook Messenger and Workplace, have also stopped working. At time of writing, it is unclear what has caused the issue although the company has suffered outages before.

This isn't a FB server issue.... is a World DNS Routing issue... something they have no contol over... their DNS data addresses have all been wiped... meaning no directions for any of the trillions of pieces of data communicating around the world... none... aaaaaaaaand its gone

Yeah, DNS appears to be a symptom of the root cause of Facebook's global failure. Don't expect a quick fix.

Hahaha, tbh I give a shit. That is something those guys need. Facebook down for such a long time, marvelous. Mark Z. probably thought, this is impossible to happen. It's just fucking bits creep. It can go down like GM and any other thing on this earth except stupidness.
