- World in Conflict Console Port Canned - The console port of
Massive Entertainment's RTS World in Conflict, originally announced for a
fall 2008 release, has now been
cancelled
- EA Announcing Mystery Game on March 12 - Electronic Arts
will
publicly announce a new project from Army of Two developer EA Montreal
next Thursday, March 12, the company revealed in a press release today. No
clues or hints as to the game's identity or platforms were provided.
- Deus Ex 3 Concept Art? - Rock, Paper, Shotgun is pointing out
two pieces of art
on the Eidos forums that may or may not be from Deux Ex 3. Interesting, very
interesting.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 features list now debunked -
Infinity Ward's community manager
"Fourzerotwo" has made a post on the NeoGAF forum thread where the
"features" were reprinted, saying, "Lame rumors are Lame. I preferred when
rumors were ground breaking, like when we were making that Sci-fi Stealth
Assassin game in space." In addition an Infinity Ward programmer who goes by
"Rayme" on the message boards also debunked the list saying, " . . .this
list wasn't put together by anyone with any insider information." So go
about your business.
- Watchmen: The End is Nigh Trailers - Two new trailers (#1,
#2)
from Watchmen: The End is Nigh are now available, offering more promotion
for the upcoming beat-em-up tie-in with the imminent Watchmen movie.
Watchmen: The End is Nigh is for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. In other news,
Xbox.IGN gave the game
only 5.5./10: "There are almost no variations in the gameplay. The first
five chapters have you pummeling similar-looking guys, all with poor AI. On
occasion you have to pull a lever or split from your buddy for no real
reason. But the bulk of the game is the same fight repeated ad nauseum."
- Lord of the Rings: Conquest Dedicated Server - Electronic Arts
has released
a dedicated server for The Lord of the Rings: Conquest, the latest game
from Pandemic Studios. There is also a
PS3
dedicated server, which also runs on a PC, but can host games for
PlayStation 3 gamers.
- Gothic 3 - Community Patch 1.7 in March -
World of Gothic has details about the upcoming final Community Patch for
Gothic 3, including a teaser
- Rise of the Triad on GOG - GoG.com has added a second Apogee game
with Rise of the Triad, released back in 1994. The game was one of the first
titles in the first person shooter genre to try to capitalize on the success
of id Software's Wolfenstein 3D and Doom and still has some of the odder
weapons made for such games.
The game ispriced at $5.99 at GoG.com and includes extra levels not in
the original version along with the game's soundtrack
- UK Game Devs Call for Help - UK game developers are not doing so
hot in this economic climate, and
they are asking for help.
- New Terminator Salvation Trailer Is Up! -
Terminator
Salvation is directed by McG, of both Charlie's Angels movies and also
We Are Marshall previously. The script was written by writing duo John D.
Brancato and Michael Ferris, of Into the Sun, The Net, The Game, and
Terminator 3 previously. This marks the return of the Terminator franchise
after Terminator 3 hit in 2003. Terminator Salvation arrives in theaters on
May 21st this summer.
