- Far Cry 2 Trailer - Ubisoft FTP offers a new "behind the scenes"
trailer for Far Cry 2, their upcoming first-person shooter.
- Will Wright's Spore to be playable at Leipzig - Though absent at
this year's E3 media summit, Spore is still reportedly on track for a 2008
release. According to
GameSpot, Will Wright's simulation of Life, the Universe and Everything will
be shown behind closed doors at this years Games Convention in Leipzig,
Germany. The Leipzig Games Convention takes place August 23 to 26.
- GameStop starts WoW: Wrath of Lich King pre-orders -
GameStop has opened up pre-orders for
the next
expansion in the World or Warcraft that'll bring it back to the old
skool Warcraft III plot line and have adventurers heading to Northrend to
kill (or maybe bring redemption to) Prince Arthas. The price for the
expansion is currently listed at $39.99, which is a safe bet considering
that was the cost of The Burning Crusade.
- Warhawk Goes Gold (PS3) -
Warhawk's gone gold and will be hitting the Playstation Network on 8/28
for $39.99. In addition to the PSN downloadable version, you can pick the
game up on BluRay for 59.99 w/ an included Jabra Bluetooth headset.
- Rock Band bundles have wireless guitar on PS3 and wired on Xbox 360 -
Both Amazon and GameStop currently sell the Rock Band bundle for $199, with
one key difference: The PS3 version
comes with a wireless guitar and the Xbox 360 version is wired.
So, for gamers looking to avoid the currently marked $20 difference between
the PS3 ($59.99) and Xbox 360 ($79.99) wireless guitar prices, the bundle is
apparently not the answer.
- 80 GB PS3 Now Available For Sale -
The new 80 GB costs $599.99 and also includes a free copy of the recent
off-road racing game Motorstorm. The 60 GB model, which recent got a lower
price of $499.99, will continue to be sold in stores "until current
inventory is depleted, which is predicted to be this fall based on current
consumer demand."
- PS3 PAL starter pack in question -
Gamasutra reports that there are conflicting signals about how much
longer the PS3 Starter Pack will be offered in Europe and PAL territories
- New DS Color/Bundle Coming -
The new DS will have a top half with a "smooth, glossy Crimson" color
with the bottom half having a Onyx matte black color. The new DS will be
released on August 21 and will be bundled with the new puzzle game Brain Age
2. The bundle package will cost $149.99.
- New Wii Firmware - The Nintendo Wii website has the
details on version 3 of the Wii software which includes things like a
new clock in the menu, showing the weather forcast and news headlines in the
icons of their respective channels, changes to the Wii message board and
other changes and additions.
- iPhone NES Emulator Tested -
Gizmodo tested the NES Emulator for the iPhone (video).
It installs easily, providing your iPhone has been previously received all
the hacks necessary. So far, it has worked with all the games they have
tried, started with Marble Madness and finishing with Zelda.
