- Apple TV games have to support the included remote - As Touch Arcade reports,
Apple has since updated its developer requirements for games that use a
traditional gamepad. "Your game must support the Apple TV remote," the
company now says. "Your game may not require the use of a controller."
This is different from the previous outline, which said that "you can
require an extended game controller" though at the time the company
said that this was "highly discouraged." According to Apple, the
controller requirements "are designed to make sure that games are
always playable." While the new remote appears to be pretty capable for
games - it has a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, several buttons,
and a touchpad - this shift in direction means that more traditional,
console-style games will be forced to require motion or touch controls
in order to launch on the device. And while the new Apple TV isn't
exactly an Xbox, this seemingly minor change could discourage some
developers from supporting it.

at the new price from October 1st in Japan, and although there's no
hint about similar cuts in other regions
