posted 20
screenshots from a beta version of Rogue Spear: Black Thorn, the expansion to the
Rogue Spear series.
- Pool Of Radiance: Ruins Of Myth Drannor Gone Gold! - Ubi Soft
Entertainment and SSI today announced that Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor has gone into production and
will begin shipping to retail on September 25, 2001. Available for the PC, this
long-awaited title is priced at $49.95.
- Chaser Officially Announced - Fishtank Interactive announced
today that they have signed the worldwide publishing rights for the action game
"Chaser(tm)," and the company plans to ship the game in Fall of 2002.

for Jet Li's first Sci-fi action movie... where's he's both the Bad Guy AND the Good Guy.

- Max Payne vs Kyro 2 - According to The Inquirer, the new
drivers are in the "final" stage of development. The driver revision is
imaginatively code named Revision 8 and it carries DirectX 8 compatibility as well as
working with Microsoft Windows XP.
- Global Operations Screenshots - The official Global Operations website
has posted 7 new screenshots
showing off more from Barking Dog Studios's upcoming first person shooter.
- Shattered Galaxy Interview - Ve has posted an interview
with Terry Park of Nexon as he chats about their recently released massively multiplayer
RTS game Shattered Galaxy.
- British Navy embraces Web for war games - The British Navy is taking
the Internet to its heart in its new three-month
military manoeuvres in the Gulf starting next month. There will be over 40 commands in
the exercises - called Argonaut 2001 - and the Navy decided the best way to communicate
between them all would be to use modern Internet technology
- Ritual Interview - GameSpy has conducted an interview with
Ritual's Tom Mustaine today, though Mustaine does not talks about their current game which
is in development for Electronic Arts.
- PainKeep Arena Q3A v2.8 - The new patch
(10MB) only fixes a few bugs in the mod. But stay tuned because the new CTF maps for
PainKeep Arena are in the works.
- Far Gate Gold - Gone Gold is reporting that Microids and Super X Studios' upcoming 3D
RTS, Far Gate, has gone gold (US). Look for it in stores on September 11.
- Acropolis Coming Sept. 18 - According to Sierra Studios public
relations department, its a value bundle of which even the gods would approve.
Containing Impressions original city building game, Zeus: Master of Olympus, and the
add-on, Poseidon, the product will sell for a suggested retail price of $29.99. (thanks AVault)
- Jumpgate Demo Online - Although the demo (84MB) is only live and free until the game launches on September
25. Anyway you can at least try this soon-to-be-released massively multiplayer online
space flight simulation action.
- Ghost Recon Trailer - Pie's Tactics have posted a divx
trailer (10MB) of Ghost Recon, Red Storm Entertainment's upcoming tactical shooter.
- Etherlords movie - Chaps at Bonusweb.cz has posted a
new ECTS trailer
(7.68MB divx) and some
screenshots from Fishtank's upcoming turn-based strategy game, Etherlords.
- Zax on Sept. 24 - JoWooD has
announced a Sept. 24 U.S. release date for Zax, an action game in which players assume the
role of a one-man army trying to fight his way off a foreign, violent world. If players
want to survive the 22 missions and more than 100 maps, fast wits and an itchy trigger
finger will get them further than good manners and diplomacy, JoWood's press materials
insist.
- Star Monkey Gold - The latest demo of Small Rockets' vertical scrolling 2D shooter is the gold version.
- Baldur's Gate II expansion EU patch - BioWare has released the EU
version of the latest Throne of Bhaal patch, bringing the Baldur's Gate II expansion up to
version 26498.
- Jekyll & Hyde Goes Gold - According to Gone Gold, Dreamcatcher Interactive's
latest adventure game, Jekyll & Hyde, has gone gold. No word on when the game will hit
retail, but when it does it'll retail for around $20.
- Starmageddon's units demo - Lemon Interactive have released a small real-time 3D demo (500kb) of one of Starmageddon's units. The demo shows V-Lab
Perdix, a high-tech lab that - when built - gives the player a couple of new units.
- Kyodai Mahjongg 17.02 - Graphics engine and interface adjustments, and
theme problems have been resolved in this new version of Kyodai MahJongg 17.02. Kyodai
Mahjongg is a great version of the famous Mahjongg Solitaire (or Shanghai) oriental game.
