  • Frontlines: Fuel of War Preview - IGN has taken a three page first look at Frontlines: Fuel of War, the Kaos Studios shooter that's due out later this year.
  • The Witcher Preview - The article offers impressions of the game, which was shown at a Polish press event. Includes new screenshots.
  • Mass Effect - Reader Q&A - Mass Effect Project Director Casey Hudson has updated the official blog at IGN with a reader Q&A.
  • Silverfall - Official Blog Update - Even though the game is out (in Europe) there is a US release looming so the developers are still taking time to promote the game. The official blog has been updated with some discussion about classes in Silverfall.
  • Command & Conquer 3 Trailer -  A trailer for the much-anticipated Command & Conquer 3 has now been released, including the shoddy FMV and wooden acting we've all come to demand from the series.
  • Dawn of Fantasy Trailer - Dawn of Fantasy website now offers a new trailer (154MB) from Reverie Entertainment' upcoming fantasy-themed RTS game.
  • Hearts of Iron II: Doomsday Patch v1.3 -  A new patch is now available for Hearts of Iron II: Doomsday, updating the World War II standalone expansion to version 1.3
  • Madden NFL 07 Patches - This EA FTP directory offers new roster updates for Madden NFL 07. There are four separate patches to cover the retail and downloadable US and UK variants on the US football simulation.
  • Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar Patch - Stardock has released a new patch for their space strategy expansion pack Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar. The 1.5X update includes AI improvements, balance changes and other additions, changes and bug fixes.
  • Dreamfall Chapters Announced - Funcom has announced that it has become the latest game developer to embrace episodic games announcing plans to release Dreamfall Chapters, an episodic continuation of their acclaimed adventure game series. Though Dreamfall Chapters is currently set for online release only, Funcom is considering retail releases featuring combined chapters at a later date, both for consoles and PCs. No release date has been announced yet.
  • Unreal Engine 3 Spy-Fi Game Announced - Hi-Rez Studios has announced a brand new Unreal Engine 3 title - Global Agenda - in a very refreshing genre... a spy-fi MMORPG. Some small teaser images are available on their website and a press release holds even more details.
  • Citizen Zero Cancelled but New Spy MMO in the Works  - Micro Forté's MMORPG that was first announced almost seven years ago has been cancelled. This is not yet reflected on the Citizen Zero Website, but FiringSquad reports that Micro Forté is now concentrating on a spy-themed MMORPG, and licensing its BigWorld Technology. This  announcement comes just one day after news that John Romero's Slipgate Ironworks will be licensing the BigWorld MMO technology suite. There are currently at least half a dozen games known to be making use of BigWorld.
  • Jade Empire: Special Edition In Shops Now (Sort of) - 2K Games follows news of online availability of Jade Empire: Special Edition with word that the PC edition of BioWare's action/RPG is now on store shelves in North America, with an international release to follow on Friday. In other news, IGN.AU speaks to BioWare's Diarmid Clarke in a just-barely pre-release interview about Jade Empire Special Edition PC.
  • Bioshock delayed until August - The Cult of Rapture: BioShock reports BioShock was previously expected some time in June, but according to 2K Games, the title will now hit stores on August 21. Gamers in Europe will also have to wait a few more days, as 2K Games says in a separate announcement that BioShock won't make it to European store shelves until August 24. Screenshots, video trailers, and other details about BioShock are all available from the Cult of Rapture website. I now know when to schedule my upgrade! :-)
  • Netamin Rolls Out Ultimate Baseball Online 2007 -  This press release announces that a number of new additions catering specifically to the solo player will be introduced in March 2007.
  • SiN Episodes Multiplayer Mod Coming - It seems the Sarkster and Ritual's former QA supermodel Michael Russell are working on a multiplayer mod for SiN Episodes: Emergence, as Michael's blog has been oozing with references to a project called USEMP.
  • PlanetSide Subscription Increase - According to this post on the PlanetSide forums, the subscription fee for this MMOFPS will be increasing. It previously cost $12.99 a month to play, as of April 2 it will be $14.99.
  • 2007 Most Wanted Games, Day 4 : PC - 1UP.com has released the fourth day of the 2007 Most Wanted Games List. Today is the PC.
  • October Release Confirmed for GTA IV (PS3, Xbox 360) - In its financial results conference call, publisher Take Two has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto IV will be shipped simultaneously for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in October 2007. Take Two also announced that Rockstar will introduce in 2008 exclusive episodic content downloads for the game.
  • Sony Sharpens 'Edge' With New PS3 Development Technology - According to DevMag Online, Sony is prepping a new PS3 development toolset called The Edge. Three first-party teams inside Sony put together this set of cutting edge technologies and tools which helps developers take advantage of the RSX chip and ther parts of the PS3.
  • PS3 firmware updated to 1.54 - Aside from the routine security updates, this update now allows console owners to use a compatible USB camera to go with their next video chat session.
  • Over 1,000 PS2 Games Playable On European PS3s - Earlier this week Sony's European Playstation division announced that changes in the PS3 hardware for the March 23 European launch for the console meant that not all PS1 or PS2 games would be backwards compatible with the PS3. Now the semi-official Sony PS3 blog web site Three Speech has some statements from Sony Playstation exec Phil Harrision where he claims that over 1,000 PS2 games will be playable on the PS3 when it launches in Europe. No specific games were mentioned.
  • Ten Maxims Every FPS Should Follow - GameCareerGuide has an article titled Ten Maxims Every FPS Should Follow. The author makes some fair points for the modern shooter, though I can think of a few he left out. Still, it's a fun read
