Computer Games - There are quite a few Vietnam War themed games out in the market right now. Why do you think this one will stand out? Maj. John Plaster - This game involves a real unit, with real missions, using that unit's correct tactics and techniques and weaponry. And it's derived from an actual history of that unit, MACV-SOG. This distinguishes the game not just from other Vietnam games, but from any previous first-person shooter game. It's a significant breakthrough in games; as I've explained to others, it's as if you've just read a history of the Crimean War, then have the opportunity to ride with the Light Brigade. Instead of reading the book and waiting for the movie, you can be in the movie. Further, Steve Ellis and Jeff Birns have given a player marvelous possibilites -- from calling in air strikes from the actual USAF fighter squadrons and Army Cobra units that supported us, to being able to position your teammates for ambushes, and, because of the way the programming was structured, each mission play repositions enemy forces so the outcome is never exactly the same. Further, there's continuing psychological pressure because you must use stealth to approach enemy locations, but (just as we faced), if you move too slow trackers and counter-recon forces will catch up with you. And, realistically, the more experience your team gains, the more effectively they operate -- however, you must also deal with teammates rotating home and replacement new guys reducing team effectiveness.
