You have some guns and you'll have to use them against the non-stop alien invasion. The aliens aren't your typical three foot tall, bug-eyed monsters bent on anal probing our Midwestern farm folk. Instead, you'll have to fight ants the size of greyhound buses, spiders that will give anybody arachnophobia, and robots the size of the Eifel Tower. They won't come at you one at a time either, like most games that pit you against enemies of this size. These guys come in swarms of hundreds at a time. We started out by playing one of the earlier levels with a heavy machine gun as our primary weapon. The black ants were streaming down the roads and swarming over the tops of buildings, so we opened fire. We quickly found that it isn't just the ants that are affected by your shots; nearly everything you can see can be reduced to rubble. That includes buildings, bridges, and the vehicles on the roads. Finding enemies to destroy isn't ever an issue, even when you've nearly wiped them all out thanks to a handy little radar on your HUD Once we had finished the first level, which only took a few minutes, we skipped ahead to the end of the game. We quickly realized this is what the it is all about. Rather than fighting a swarm of black ants, we found the entire screen filled with flying, crawling, and vehicle riding enemies. When we say the entire screen, we aren't exaggerating. You essentially can't shoot your gun without hitting some sort of alien. While connecting with your bullets isn't difficult, staying alive is another issue. The guns you have at this point in the game, including a wacky acid spewing super soaker, do the trick and it becomes a mad rush to continuously collect the power-ups that the aliens drop in order to stay alive.
