EA Server and Bad Company 2 Disconnect Status - briefly

The Battlefield Blog offers some information about what they are doing to solve the disconnect problems: After last nights EA server outage on PS3 and PC, EA have found the issue and put a fix in place and brought the servers back online. This means that both PS3 and PC players can return back to playing Bad Company 2.

We are aware of a number of remaining disconnect issues on PC and we have released the “R5” server to hosts yesterday to address some of the disconnects. We are continuing to work on the remaining disconnect issues to have a solution as fast as possible as well as looking into reports of other issues raised on the forums for consoles: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-ng/ and PC: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-pc/

Battlefield Bad Company 2 has managed to prove so popular that yesterday the concurrent users in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 surpassed that in Battlefield 2 which has been going strong for almost 5 years.

Have you noticed that it became a common practise among devs to sell/release beta version? Let everybody report all the bugs and find a work-around solution first, and then they will actually start doing smthing about it. Graph issues/sound issues,and connection issues were reported BEFORE the official release, during the beta testing.
The game looks awesome. But the bugs/problems just piss u off! Its like buying a brand-new-nice-looking Ford, and come back to dealership within the next month to fix it (which is highly possible:)).

What a shame.....

I recently got my self Thief the games pack. All 3. Jesus! Those games are like a decade old and the run perfectly whithoput any bugs, crashes etc... And back then making games was a real hell! Now, today with all the soft, tech .... they release crap..... shit..... I am really pissed, i got BC2 and cant play it!

Ya and what version is it after it's installed? Thief games had a lot of bugs fella. Your cd just included all the patches. I know because I played them and own each of them. Also, although they do open beta's and stuff, it helps them to find the bugs but that doesn't mean it will be bug free on release, most times it just means you wont have to wait so long for a patch right after release. Been like this for some time now.

And for Thief. Back in the 90s Thief series were perfect!
I played them on Win 98 and dont remember bugs, crashes etc...
Maybe your system wasnt that good back in the days :lol: ;) hehe
Today, yes - they pach them as hell so that people with modern CPUs, VGA, Windows can run them properly ;) But its not a guarantee you know ;)
But, i now on my sistem run them perfectly - the only problem is that the cinematics of the first Thief dont show up - only sound :(

Empty words?!?!? There's no empty words, just words falling on an empty head.. way I see it. LOL.

Well I got BC2, crap, cheat fest it is and it runs no problem on my PC. there were known issues since patched up. Don't know anyone having a problem with the game. Only problem I've heard was EA disconnecting people.

Your memory is horrible than. Thief had lots of problems back then, some of which had 3 or 4 patches. Heck! I even think I have the patches backed up somewhere. Thief was re-released in Gold format including all the patches. Their last game, the company went under and lots of people got screwed.

I'm not going to argue with you. I had the games since day 1. I know what I'm talking about. Thanks. :wink:

How can you say perfect if cinematics don't work? That's like saying my Ford Mustang works great but the doors don't open, but the windows do.

For BFBC2. The server browser dont work at all ;)
Look at the EA forums and youll see a lot, a lot of people having all sort of problems :)
And this is not something small... The browser didnt work at all in the BEta... well, they released the final game as.... well, crap :) heh

About Thief, man - i am telling you - i had no problems back then with Thief games!!! :)

As fot the cinematics :) Again i will explain - they dont run now on my Windows 7 64bit :) I searched for solution on the net, well - a lot of people are having the same problem.
I hope that you will agree with this - a game, decade old, cant run on modern machines - its not optimized ;)
Well, when they released the patched bundle of the 3 Thief games, there were no Windows 7, so - yes, they run perfectly ;)

I have to agree with Tride. Tom, if u don't have problems with BF BC2 PC version in multiplayer--then either u don't own the copy of PC game or u are just a very lucky bastard and I envy u.
I had to reinstall the game 2 times, run the Updater.exe from the game directory,and wait for EA to fix their servers before I was able to play a single match. And then got kicked for no reason. And then, crashed to Desktop. And then I would get no response from servers. And wait, and wait, and wait...
Oh,and I forgot-- I never got the unlockes they promised, ha-ha.
And my PC isn't the sucky one.
It is not a finished product. At least the multiplayer part. Singleplayer is awesome, though.
I can't wait for that patch. DICE - hurry the f up, u greedy bitches!

Sorry I [u:5d26d553ae]don't[/u:5d26d553ae] have that problem. I haven't gone to the forums because I haven't had any problems. You have to wait and be patient for the browser. It takes approx 2 mins for it to come up especially if you just loaded up the game. It does for me.

I know it didn't work all the time in the beta. Has worked for me every time in retail though. And here's some information for you, there are a lot of dumb fucks with shit systems that bitch and moan cuz the game runs like shit or they have problems so telling me so and so in forums is complaining does not say anything to me other than what I just said. So I have to guess, you have a lousy internet connection or lousy pc. Everyone here at work, some with lesser pc's than me have not had a problem with browser since we are all on vent and nobody said, "hey my browser aint working". to be perfectly honest, the first time I loaded up BC2 and the browser, the game crashed. But beyond that I've never had a problem and I've been playing pubs and on our own server without issue.

I'm done on the Thief stuff dude. You said run perfect. Run perfect means no problems. Your point was today's games are shit quality and you said old games were harder to make and better quality. You are wrong and Thief was far from great code. If the game was fucking awesome etc etc, then the company wouldn't not have gone under now would they? Come on, get off the pot man. I own the games, I finished all of them. Though thief was a great game it was far from perfect. All games need patches, there are lots of different systems out there. It's always has been a part of PC gaming.

@ykazka, sorry to hear you have problems. Other than a slow as shit update the game runs perfectly fine for me. I have never had a problem with the game browser, I was actually expecting it to not work like in the beta but it's worked all the time as does friend tracking. The only change I have made in the game is FOV to 95. I wasn't planning on buying this cheat festival on PC but since a bunch of friends got it I had little choice. I find the quality of the game way better than the beta was(actually) but I find the lack of a real death cam disturbing, especially when you see your assailant's gun moving around at light speed. There are some 50-70,000 potential aimbot/wallhack cheaters out there and do you think you will ever be able to spot one with the shit deathcam now? Pbbbt! At least in MW2 you can see if the bitch is cheating right away, in BC2 you have to guess. Oh and my bonus content codes work too. LOL! I haven't tried single player actually, but plan too.

WOW! This must be my biggest post! Maybe I should work today. LOL
