EA Ditching Medal of Honor Franchise - briefly

The Medal of Honor series is apparently being put on hold. Although the 2010 reboot of EA's FPS series was successful for the company, its follow-up was not. 2012's Warfighter met lackluster reviews, and equally dismal sales.
Electronic Arts is taking the Medal of Honor franchise out of its lineup due to low scores for Medal of Honor Warfighter, chief operating officer Peter Moore said in an investor call today.

"We struggled with two challenges: the slowdown that impacted the entire sector and poor critical and commercial reception for Medal of Honor Warfighter," said Moore. "Medal of Honor was an obvious miss. The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers.

They ruined the franchise right from the get-go. Should MOH gone modern? No. Did it piss off a huge community that loved the WW2 setting, Yes. People left the game in droves. They lost their entire community because of idiotic choices. Not to mention the fact they betrayed people they looked towards for the future of this franchise. Allied Assault was the last best release of MOH, hands down and they F'd it up after that.

Next franchise to go is Max Payne.. another franchise F'd up by incompetent people. Oh hey, lets release some more goodies months and months after the game release! ya!

I liked Payne 1 and 2.
3 is just pathetic, so I guess I agree with Tom's analysis.

I think that the major games from dedicated studios all suck.
They're highly artificial, focused on all the wrong things.
Games that come out from smaller groups are so much more fun.
