EA Changes Origin EULA - briefly
(hx) 12:25 AM CEST - Aug,27 2011 - Post a comment / read (2)
This week, people finally got around to reading the end user license agreement for EA's download service Origin, and found that it allowed EA to collect personal and usage data for marketing purposes (the old version of the ORIGIN EULA which can be found here). In response, EA issued a new, much softer-sounding version (PDF link here) of Origin's EULA. The new version no longer mentions marketing, but maintains the right to collect "nonpersonally identifiable data, including computer configuration, software usage, and peripherals connected. EA specifies that this data collection is done "for purposes of improving our products and services, providing services to you, facilitating the provision of software updates, dynamically served content and product support as well as communicating with you." Here's the new EULA wording:
EA knows that you care how information about you is collected, used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and EA would never sell your personally identifiable information to anyone, nor would it ever use spyware or install spyware on users’ machines. We and agents acting 37683v1 on our behalf do not share information that personally identifies you without your consent, except in rare instances where disclosure is required by law or to enforce EA’s legal rights.

In addition to information that you give EA directly, EA collects nonpersonally identifiable (or anonymous) information for purposes of improving our products and services, providing services to you, facilitating the provision of software updates, dynamically served content and product support as well as communicating with you. The non-personally identifiable information that EA collects includes technical and related information that identifies your computer (including the Internet Protocol Address) and operating system, as well as information about your Application usage (including but not limited to successful installation and/or removal), software, software usage and peripheral hardware.

As noted above, this information is gathered periodically for purposes such as improving our products and services, troubleshooting bugs, and otherwise enhancing your user experience. This and all other data provided to EA and/or collected by EA in connection with your installation and use of this Application is collected, used, stored and transmitted in accordance with EA’s Privacy Policy located at www.ea.com. To the extent that anything in this section conflicts or is inconsistent with the terms of EA’s Privacy Policy, the terms of the Privacy Policy shall control.

RARE its only rare while the slaves are well behaved and do as they are told by officialdom, kept distracted with bread and war games I mean circus shows oh I mean violence oh degenerate drama show shit, and the salaried legal scumbag tyrants who work for it don't find a moral compass up their ass .. they must think there customers are idiots (oh yeh they are slaves to a legal scum system of corrupt government rule that favors corporations and braindead collectivists who are the fools of socially engineered societies that accept the illusion they are given. So controlling elitists can get more power, regardless of what the taxed slaves say when the give up their freedom to choose and vote for political tie wearing lying shillbags who make up this mob rule democracy -like idiots who are manipulated by media deception, because government & law is not controlled by them, who get to define what other peoples rights are and when they are changed based on how much they can get away before their actions have consequences amongst the masses when they realize how them are others are effected by it.

So EA trying to pass it off that its not them its the LAW.. no its biased LEGAL bullshit, and you EA have on purpose decided that GREED and power fits the agenda in co towing that line and designing a service that further inches its way on having such sniveling abilities, shows your true intent to get a foot in the door for a backdoor access like all others that try it.. OTHERWISE you wouldn't require that customer be forced to accept such biased EULA crap if they want the game to work.

When customers pay for the game, the network communication traffic that should be going on when those customers of yours allow your game/client -network access on their property, should only be that of nature to what the game or application inherently requires to work and only that! Making software and games that go out of what is really required to make them function as fully described is just sly, just as further pushing people to accept more intrusion into other areas.

If buying the rights to play a game requires that customers make available without any restriction and control on their part, thereby forfeiting their LEGAL (bullshit) RIGHTS to you and the governmental law society of morally corrupt fascist scumtards and their salaried brainless deadbeat minion agents. Who all work like compassion less drones to further feed the corrupt cancer system they work for in obtaining more information to help them in further acquiring money and power at the expense of other people and their privacy and even worse. Then you are pure evil scum and trying to wEAsel your way into SNIFFING into other areas unrelated to what the game inherently requires to work in a multiplayer interaction is taking fucking liberties!

You and all other corposcum entities using twisted lawless 'legal bullshit' to further overcome the barriers in intruding on other people's privacy and taking liberties in acquiring personal information regardless of how you want to make out customers shouldn't mind are going to pay the price sooner or later. The price can start with me not having anything to do with your not so 'game' only service.

[Lie] If government affiliated busy body scumbums want information on someone for legal tyranny purposes usually money extortion etc then you aren't selling it, your selling your fucking morals you shit hEAds. And getting taken to injustice admin-ministrating corruption scumcourts and losing money in fines because your corporation is part of a 'legal system' and wanted to have some morals then what is the difference in giving away information to self imposed authorities, instead paying a fine or getting shut down. Sure you aren't 'selling it'.. a fools delusion.

[Deception]Sure its not someone else's spyware, its your own tailored made spyware that isn't spyware, because them fucking idiot customers agreed to our EULA bullshit. Hey EA and all you other scumcorps, these tricks won't work soon when more people start to realize what degenerate corrupt legal system they are complicity supporting by doing so.

Mambo #5: A little bit of spyware over here, a little bit of spyware over there...
What does it matter anyway?
You know it's a lie.
You know they're giving out your details (that's how you get spam to an address you haven't disclosed to anyone else).
You know they're using the data for other purposes than intended.
You have no way of proving it and if you want to play their game, you have to accept it (or, find a way to play to bypass that agreement but that's a different story).
So, what do you do?
You install a packet-filter software that inspects the data being sent and tada... You can block the data from being sent completely, or, patch the packets on the fly and feed them false info. You did not reverse their executable or code (which is not allowed according to this agreement), you just modified data generated by your own PC. Good luck proving that the packets are not getting corrupted on their way. They will have to have a security mechanism on their server to filter false data, so your packets will be dropped anyway.
Problem solved.

Never used online services like this, never will. I stick with GOG, far better. I play the newest titles at the neighbor, free of charge. You are collecting somebody else's data -> epic fail anyway.
