Right now the game is incredibly, incredibly early. Everything still has that decidedly pre-alpha look to it. Setting aside the mass of placeholders, it's apparent that the team is going for a visual style that's a cross between Halo and DOOM III. The Halo comes from the sleek, almost Spartan environments and the DOOM III comes from the color and ample use of rich, clearly defined lighting. Bump-mapping and pixel-shaded everything are all over the place and really help give Neuro a solid feel. Character models have that pre-rendered, almost Far Cry plastic coolness to them. All of this early visual splendor will be broken down into chapters that range from the planet Sorgo (a massive metropolis of the future) to space stations to the lovely planet Avanta. Expect a solid mix of outdoor and indoor environments, even though what was demonstrated was strictly inside. Again, I have no idea how the missions will play out. Linear? Nonlinear? Branching? Objective-based? Who knows?
