GameSpy has posted an E3 preview of
Age of
Mythology - The Titans, the recently announced expansion pack for Age of
Mythology. The Titans includes a new single-player campaign, scores of new
mythological units, the ability to promote units to heroes, and, of course, the
opportunity to harness the awesome powers of the Titans. Age of Mythology: The
Titans is due out this fall. Here is an excerpt:
Jones also introduced me to some of the new Titans and their respective gifts. One of the first players will find is Gaea, an earth goddess who gives her worshippers the ability to grow "lush", dense foliage that grows around buildings. The great thing about lush is that no other player can build on ground covered by it, greatly enhancing the security of bases and preventing (or at least slowing down) enemies from building unit producers close to your home and overwhelming you. Players will also meet Ouranous, Zeus's dad and former sky god who allows players to build "Sky passages", basically teleporters that allow extremely rapid movement across great distances. The coolest god power I saw though, goes to Kronos - god of time. His blessing allows players to reverse the flow of time and and deconstruct any building already constructed and reconstruct it anywhere within the line of sight of one of their units - including in an enemy base!
