Even before Running with Scissors's POSTAL 2's release, the game is generating controversy! According to Yahoo & CNN, a Dutch gay activist is fighting to outlaw the import of a U.S. computer game in which the player can shoot homosexuals, junkies, dogs and cats. Henk Krol, editor of the leading Dutch gay newspaper, has asked prosecutors to start court proceedings and is lobbying parliamentarians to outlaw the game, called "POSTAL 2." "It is disgusting. In the Netherlands we have anti-discrimination laws to protect people from discrimination based on sexual preference and that makes it easier to do something," Krol told Reuters on Thursday. I'd think they would be happy just to be included and acknowledged in a video game. The people who made the game are just trying to be fair - they have included people from all walks of life. To not include homosexuals would be biggoted, I think. Kudos to Running With Scissors for being so progressive!

Dummest comment on a game. What about having sex & then killing hookers in GTA3 & VC ? So hookers don't have protection from being discriminated & treated like trash in a video game ? Only those dutch fags do ?

If they made a game with gays in it, where you can shoot everything but the gays, they would probably call it discrimination... How come you can not shoot at us? are we different? blah, blah, blah...

Gee...makes me wonder how many gay people I've shot in other games without even knowing it! Most of us blend right into society without anyone even knowing (or caring for that matter)...what is it, two in every 10 guys? I guess the same odds would apply to the digital men in video games. And what about Bi guys? Come on people, IT'S A G A M E! Now if someone came out with a game in which you ONLY shot gay people, or any other minority segment of the population, that would give one reason to get upset. I'm more upste about shooting the dogs and cats! By the way, does anyone else think that Half Life's Gordon Freeman is gay? The Lambda that had a major appearance in the game's logo, and even serves as the letter 'a' in the title are a enough for me to believe...(For anyone that does not know, the lambda has been the symbol for the gay pride/rights movement FAR longer than the 'pride' or 'rainbow' flag.) Lighten up people...these are games! Here's food for thought....how about a serial killer on the loose in The Sims Online? What a concept!

Uhh...well you'd have to talk to Lard Ass about that one. The gay thing that is. But you're right. It is only a game, but as we can even see on this site from Lard Ass him/herself, people will ALWAYS have something to complain about.
