As we said, the single player aspect of Dragonshard is more akin to an action-RPG, with things like side quests, experience points that you can use to upgrade units and collecting gold and items like weapons and magic items. There is even an mini-economy that's being put in place where the local population of the city that you build determines how much gold you have. There are three playable sides in Dragonshard, each with about 25 unique units. The Adventure style of units are the once that can be upgrades while Hero and Juggernaut units are more powerful ones that can not be upgraded. The three sides are The Order of The Flame (a amalgamation of several classic D&D races) the Shadow Elves (a race that sort of speaks for itself) and, in their official public debut on Tuesday at the press event, the Lizard Folk. This third race has a number of reptilian representatives, all the way up to the big guys, the dragons.
