- Post a comment GameStop reveals some interesting information regarding DSi pre-orders. Basically they are good, very good!
We've picked up on the fact many of you aren't feelin' the DSi. But you know what? Lots of other people are, because according to GameStop, pre-orders for the handheld are off the charts.
According to GameStop senior vice president Bob McKenzie, DSi pre-orders are double the size of the original DS: "We've seen some pretty brisk pre-orders on DSi. It's probably double where we were on the original DS, as far as reservation activity, so we're expecting some great things from that."
I seem to remember the original DS as being kind of a big deal, so those kind of pre-order numbers are surprisingly high for a device that seems pitched at replacing a very similar device you already own.
Thinking it over, I'm not surprised. Doesn't the DSi offer a larger screen and a more vibrant screen (improved number of colors/resolution?) and a camera? Those are both pretty significant features. I'm not sure they were worth ditching the GBA slot, but I guess they had to move on sooner or later... |
