Gamecloud - How would you describe the gameplay goals for Dreamfall and how it will differ from the normal adventure game?

Jørgen Tharaldsen - Through mixing the classic adventure and modern action mechanics with a strong story, believable characters, fantastic graphics, strong music and exotic locations we aim to take you along on an epic journey of exploration and adventure. On your way you will face thrills, horrors, laughs, sorrows, adrenaline rush and other emotions. We are aiming to deliver an extremely varied gaming experience with lots of different challenges to overcome.

With the normal adventure game I assume you mean point and click? At heart Dreamfall is similar, but what we have done is to try and keep the very best aspects of a great adventure while mixing it with the game-mechanics and choices of 2005.

It's a fact that we are one of the extremely few major budget adventure games in production, but we have a true hope that Dreamfall will do the for the adventure genre what Baldur's gate and Diablo did to the then "dead" RPG genre. We hope that our vision for the future of adventure games will shine, making other gaming companies seeing the strength and opportunities which lies in mixing the best of the past with the visions of the future. How it all turns out remains to be seen, but we are naturally hoping for the best so we can keep on pushing the boundaries of adventure gaming. If we fail I think the future of major budget adventure games might be very bleak for some time to come, but that won't happen, will it;)
