Were you dissapointed by the lackluster sounds of Doom 3? Do you want your pistol not to sound like a Nerf air gun? Wish the enemies made sounds that could actually scare someone? Long for the far superior sounds by Trent Reznor? Well look no further, for here they are! This mod (8.6MB) changes the sounds for theimp, the pinky, the zombie, the fat zombie, the zombie commando, the hell knight, the pistol, the shotgun, the machine gun, the chaingun, the player, that's it!
To install this Sound Pack, 1.Extract pak005.pk4 to your doom3/base directory (IE- c:program filesDoom 3base) 2.If you already have a pk4 file named pak005, rename this pk4 file to pak006.pk4. If there is alredy a pk4 file named pak006, simpy rename this pk4 file to pak006.pk4, and so on if there's another sequential pk4 file. 3. Start up Doom 3 and the mod will load automatically.

wild, why would anyone want to change the sound? look at hx review for example, 5/5 for sound! Wow, picky people out there eh? Now all they need is a overall texture pack addon to replace the garbage in the game.

I am glad this came out, because I think Trent could have done better. I loved the sounds and music in quake. It pissed me off to no end when I found our that Trent wasn't going to do the sound after all.

I've tested this mod, but i can't really tell the difference.I mean, sure, the shotgun is pretty boomy, and the pistol is more powerful, but the overall differences are pretty small.


ok, and another question: when played with "surround speakers", the Subwoofer channel acts like a regular satelite channel (you can hear mid-highs on it (!!!!)). Anyone experienced this ? I have the Audigy2 :roll:
