DOOM 3 Tops Worldwide Retail Charts - briefly

Activision just sent out a press release announcing that id Software's DOOM 3 is topping worldwide sell-through charts. The game debuted as the #1 best-selling PC game in the U.S. for the week ending August 7, according to NPD Techworld.
Additionally, DOOM 3 was the #1 best-selling game overall in the U.K. for the weeks ending August 14 and August 21, according to the U.K. Chart Track and the #1 best-selling PC game in Australia, for the weeks ending August 8 and 15, according to GfK Inform Database. For the week ending August 15, DOOM 3 also was the #1 best-selling PC game in France, according to GfK; the #1 game in Germany, according to Media Control; and the #1 game in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, according to Manual Sweden, Manual Denmark and Manual Norway.

lmfao. sorry, one hugely overrated game. it was popular for 1 week, gimme a break. what about sims? or hl? or anything for that matter. what a pointless article. all this is is fishing for more sales. makes me sick. there is no great feat here.

I agree. There really wasn't anything innovative in Doom 3 besides the graphics. All the levels were bland except the Hell level. Graphics and sound easily a 10. Gameplay, it's your typical FPS.

omg there is darkness, painted shadows, bump mapping, pixel shading(best part of game) something that is going to explode well beyond anything doom3 has. typical fps? u obviously are new to gaming. this is a spawn kill game just like painkiller, serious sam etc. so those should also have the same score. at least in painkiller you could see half the game and they didn't paint textures to make them darker, plus painkiller has the amazing havok engine physics, what did doom3 have? repetitive pixelized deaths and regular drop to the ground deaths, oh and how many different creatures were in doom3?... lol

doom 3's gameplay was average, but XXXX, do yourself a favour... don't compare doom3's graphics to painkiller. Painkiller is current day engine. Doom3 is next generation. You're making yourself look like an idiot.... which you're not coz i know u own nvidia. :lol: we're cool?

I agree with all of you grapichs no matter what they did not use and what they used, I have to admit it is the best so far anyway good thing I waited because I just got mine for 14.95 dollars brand new :P Can't wait to play it.... Even if it is Crap it is worth it. I am going to do the same thing with Half Life, they are not going to get rich by me. :wink:.... Now only if their was a way I could get Xp pro this cheap...... :lol:... without stolen or Pirated...ofcourse
