GamersPress have infiltrated Strategy First's Montreal studios, bound Producer Pro Sotos to a chair, and forced him to answer 7 Questions on the upcoming Disciples II: Dark Prophecy. Here's a snip:
GamersPress: Please tell us a bit about the races you can play, and the storyline that drives their Sagas (campaigns). Is the story central to the game play itself, or merely "window dressing" around a series of missions? Will there be any new classes (other than Warrior, Mage, and Guild Master) to choose from, and if so what are their characteristics?
Pro Sotos: The story of Disciples II revolves around the 4 fully playable races and takes place about 10 years after Disciples: Sacred Lands. One important thing that I think most gamers don’t realize is that each campaign mission follows a time line that tells the complete story. For example if the first campaign you play is the one for the Legions of the Damned, you are actually playing the 5th part of the story. The order you play the campaigns in has no impact on outcome, and it won’t affect the players understanding of the story.
The campaigns in Disciples II are designed with the story in mind, and although it’s not important that the gamer remember every detail that occurs in the game, I believe it adds to the experience of playing the game. And to answer the last part of the question, there are no new lord types in the game, but there are over 50 new units, each with a unique battle animation. [more] |
