In terms of gameplay, Desert Rats Vs. Africa Korps is definitely more of an action-oriented strategy game than many other WWII themed titles. There are two separate campaigns in the game (one for the Germans and one for the Brits) as well as a skirmish mode where you can select one of many, many different missions. Playing through some of the single player missions, it's clear that Digital Reality likes to see stuff blow up real good as the units tangle in the open desert, villages and other locations. The structured campaigns have some plot twists and voice acting that are a little over the top but that's forgivable. One of the cooler aspects of the game is that units can improve their stats and attacks over time and there are "hero" units as well that can bolster other units around them.
