HomeLAN - How will the AI in the game be handled for both the enemies and your teammates? Wes Eckhart - We are completely reworking the AI system for Delta Force - Black Hawk Down. One of the key necessities for making a more engaging single player game is to have teammate AI that really knows what its doing. The amount of interaction with teammates, the necessity for them to operate as cohesive units in groups of 4, 8, or 16 soldiers, the ability for them to intelligently perform room to room takedowns, all require a much more involved AI system. One of the big features of the new system is pathfinding. Both friendlies and enemies will intelligently navigate the environment, figuring out the best way to track their prey, while at the same time taking advantage of cover and concealement positions. You'll also notice a big difference between how the friendly and enemy forces fight. The soldiers tend to work in teams better, cautiously covering each other as they advance through alleys and hallways. Enemy forces are more haphazard. They are more likely to dive behind cover and fire one handed around a corner.
