DayZ Will Not Be Finished Until 2016 - briefly

Bohemia Interactive has notified Early Access buyers that DayZ, its zombies survival game, will not be finished until the first half of 2016. The developer shared with us its plans for 2015 and beyond today, including final price points for when the game is released. The standalone version of DayZ entered Steam Early Access almost one year ago. The price is slated to gradually increase, though it will be reduced from the new norm of $34.99 to its previous cost of $29.99. As the game completes alpha testing in the final quarter of 2015, that price will be raised to $43.99. Final release price will be $49.99.

Ed.note: Why would they feel the pressure? They've already made 35 million dollars on pre orders for a game that is basically a copy of the mod. So they've built in some server checks and added some buildings to Cherno. That doesn't take 5 years. I mean the devs are sitting on a pot of gold laughing all the way to the bank. What pressure do they feel to finish?

DayZ has alot of potential and the devs see it with how many ppl buying the alpha. Put a little more effort and they'll reap in the cash laughing all the way to the bank like the Ed said. Players will get into in game and love it for the first month but then rage wipe the game off their computers due to the amazing amount of hacks, bandits, bandits that hack, and AI and inventory glitches.

dunno why EA hasn't already done the same.. I mean there battlefield frostbite engine at least doesn't completely fucking suck donkey balls. And they could probably get a dayz clone out in 6months and it would still be better than that fking arma/dayz shit bohemia put outs.

Well I expect to eventually see these guys getting a class action lawsuit against them. I think they are scammers. I will wager the game will not even be close to any release. It will just be bullshit promises to lure people, just like the headlines and their BS 15% off sale on steam. Gee, how coincidental. Hit headlines, claim you will have it finished at this time and all the idiots flock and buy more. They made $35 mill already and this is the shit they have to show for it. What a joke.

people that bought into this totally deserve what they got. This just goes to show how many naive people with more money than they can handle are out there. Announcing delay this big after cashing in this much is practically saying: We are done with this.

lol so bad.. they shoudl be fucking giving those who bought dayz free copies of arma 3 its still same shity engine but whatever
