Shacknews has written a new preview of the upcoming version 2.0 of Day of Defeat Half-Life mod. For those of you don't know the mod, Day of Defeat is a "realistic" team play mod for Half-Life with a World War 2 setting. There are two teams, Allies and Axis who play to control the map. Though not round based, there is reinforcement time so no instant respawns. Here is a snip from the preview:
The movement system has been reworked as well. Instead of walking / running, you can now jog or sprint. Sprinting for a while will drain your stamina and while you sprint you are unable to fire your weapon. What will also drain your stamina, are the MG42 or .30 Cal. Unless your gun's tripod / bipod is down, your stamina will drain while you fire (though you can continue to fire). Without the tripod both guns are inaccurate anyway, so you will want to go to prone. Wait, the MG42 and .30 Cal? Yep, two of the new guns in DoD 2.0. Other new weapons are the MG34, the M1 carbine and the most lethal weapon of them all, the spade. All the Germans except for the sniper now have a spade instead of a knife. These new weapons, with the exception of the spade obviously, are heavy ones, and once you strategically place yourself - you can't move while firing - its easy to wipe out most of the enemy team. That is of course unless one of their snipers caps you.
Weapons already included in the previous releases also have new weapon models and new player hands, though some of these models already made it in to 1.2 and 1.3. The weapons have also been spiced up with all new or tweaked sound effects. [more]

Actually, DOD came out LONG before wolfenstein. And even on HL engine, I found DOD to be 20X better than RCTW, at least for multiplayer experience. I think DOD is even better than MOHAA(not graphically tho).
